When bowling is ingrained in you, it becomes part of your DNA.
Storm's newest Premier performance line, DNA, features all new Storm Bowling technology. Inside, the new SuperCoil asymmetric weight block has a unique shape that helps lower the RG and create more midlane read for stronger hook.
Wrapped in the new EXO Solid reactice coverstock, and finished at 2000 Grit Abralon, DNA will grip the lanes providing never before seen traction on today's tough lane conditions.
Here's what Storm has to say about DNA:
You may have already seen how a bowling ball is made. We start from the innermost part, the weight block, and work our way out. In this case, it’s the inventive Supercoil weight block. The intent was to develop a super low RG shape with a greater undrilled intermediate differential. Traditionally, weight blocks with more of the mass placed around the equator drive the RG down and read the midlane better. The cutaway on the Y-axis helps to maintain dynamic integrity after drilling. When it’s time, the coverstock is poured. In just a few minutes as the liquid transitions to a solid, an extreme amount of heat (about 200 °F) needs to be released for this to happen. We refer to this as “exotherm”. This stage in the process is crucial to the chemistry of the coverstock and by controlling the peak temperature, heat rate, and cooldown speed we can manipulate the chemical porosity deep within that helps with oil absorption and displacement. This creates caverns of porosity and cliffs so deep which give this state of-the-artshell the kind of cutting-edge traction that’ll leave you in awe. Enter: EXO Reactive coverstock.
Strengths
The DNA is pretty impressive on the lanes, thanks to its new Supercoil weight block and EXO Solid Reactive coverstock. Providing an excellent combination of total hook and downlane recovery, the DNA excels on medium to heavier oil conditions.
Weaknesses
The only thing the DNA doesn't do very well is handle drier lanes. Shorter and drier oil patterns are best left for weaker bowling balls.
Overall Summary
The DNA features a new core and coverstock combination that offers more total hook than the Infinite PhysiX, with more back end recovery than the Nova and Super Nova. It offers Storm fans another great option for longer and higher volume oil patterns.
