The Storm Concept from the SPI LAB Series redefines how core and cover combinations are built for challenging lane conditions. Instead of relying on the core to create motion, the Concept lets the extremely strong ARC Cover do the work. With exceptionally high coefficients of friction and oil absorption near USBC limits, the cover provides maximum traction where it’s needed most. (ARC Cover – extreme COF – max traction)
The Radius Weight Block acts as traction control, using a very mild RG and differential design to keep the ball stable and prevent early forward roll or “lock-up.” Even with low differential, advanced cover technology ensures continuous hook and avoids oil carrydown commonly seen with urethane. (Radius core – low diff – stable motion)
In 14–16 lb weights, the Concept features a two-piece construction with a thick resin shell. This increases the coefficient of restitution (COR), enhancing energy transfer and creating more dynamic pin action. Built for tough, demanding patterns where control and continuation matter most. (Thick shell – higher COR – continuous hook)
